To develop and launch an online global marketplace where buyers and sellers can transact in a seamless manner. In other words, this platform will act as a bridge between buyers and sellers from around the world. Salient features 1. Its online, will be hosted in a secure hosting environment 2. The end to end supply chain management business process will be electronic. Buyers, Sellers / vendors, delivery companies and logistics companies will all be connected in one platform on a global level. 3. Vendors from every country will be registered on the platform together will all their products and services. This will be explained in detail at the presentation stage. 4. It is not a search engine and will not display a list of sellers on request. 5. Phase 1 is intended to cover B2B. In later phases, B2C will be covered as well. 6. The platform will have a “Request for Proposal” / “Request for Quote” templates for larger bulk purchases where purchase value is much higher How does it work? 1. Buyer through an internal workflow and business process prepares a “purchase request” and submits to the platform. A “respond by” date will be included. 2. Based on the chosen location/region the platform will send notifications to sellers/vendors in that region. 3. Vendors will respond to the request. The cut-off date will be as per the requested date. 4. Vendor response will be in a uniform format. 5. The platform will tabulate all received responses and submit back to buyer. The tabulation will even rank the bids as per predetermined criteria. 6. Buyer has to make their choice of vendor based on their selection criteria. 7. Payment integration will be made available to facilitate payment at any stage. 8. Integration will be done for buyers financial accounting systems The whole process is electronic. The process mentioned is very brief and is only indicative of how this works. The exact process and the convenience and uniqueness of the platform can only be shared after an NDA is signed and can be explained in the presentation stage. Value 1. Buyers gets a wider choice. They do not have to chase vendors. The system sends the inquiry to all the registered sellers / vendors. 2. Buyer will get a competitive pricing. 3. Sellers will now receive all inquiries for his registered products. 4. Eliminate middlemen to a certain extent which will have a direct impact on the purchase price. 5. Platform will hold all received responses until the ‘close’ date, tabulate and respond back to the buyer only on the evening of the closing date. This will eliminate any corruption like revealing of prices, knowledge of who is bidding etc. 6. The process is now transparent to all stakeholders and controlled by the platform thereby eliminating kickbacks and other forms of corruption. 7. Sellers can now reduce their marketing expenditure. If they are registered on the platform the inquiry will come to them automatically. How is it different from existing solutions and platforms? The current business design, proposed workflow and approach is what it makes unique. This will be elaborated more in the presentation stage.
