Krishi Janani is a farmers network for regenerative agroecology. Our mission is to profitably aggregate farmers’ purchasing power to create an agricultural ecosystem that nourishes farmers, consumers, and the planet. Krishi Janani is our moonshot at creating an impact + profit company. -- Krishi Janani provides market access services – buying and selling – to farmer-members in its network. -- The network currently serves 3,500+ farmer-members (60% are small farmers) in two districts in Tamil Nadu, India. -- A growing online marketplace houses a catalogue of 27 discounted products from 7 manufacturers. Sales have gradually grown, ending the financial year at ₹7,50,000 ($11,000). -- Krishi Janani’s active members saved an average of ₹45/Mo (1.3% of average ag expenditure) in just one year since launch. This impact is set to grow. -- With some initial investments, Krishi Janani has created a working prototype and traction.
