HYGIEIA Your at-home Doctor A Product by Leistung Consultant Pvt. Ltd. India is the largest country of origin of international migrants with a 17.5 million-strong diaspora across the world. According to a 2016 report by the ministry for statistics and programme implementation, India has 103.9 million elderly, people above age 60, about 8.5 per cent of the population. Given the statistics it can be concluded that a significantly large number of elderly people are living on their own in our country. Pandemic notwithstanding, easy access to professional guidance regarding one’s health, should be a basic need easily accessible to every citizen especially our senior citizens. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in India. About HYGIEIA HYGIEIA is a service designed to do screening of numerous vitals and follow it up by consultation from a certified General Practitioner, all from the comforts of one's home. HYGIEIA comprises of a portable device (BUDDY) which helps in recording all the necessary vitals and transfers the data to HYGIEIA app and further to the cloud-based storage. In affect, HYGIEIA records vitals such as BP, heart rate, temperature, ECG, blood oxygen and lung sounds. These are then made available to the designated GP (doctor) for analysis via a cloud storage system. In case vitals are out of the normal range an alarm notification is sent to • The designated doctor assigned for the said patient/user • The relative(s) registered by the user in the app. The GP can then preempt/treat the given condition of the patient (as the case maybe). By providing a notification to concerned relatives, it eases the stress and keeps relatives updated about their near and dear ones, despite being physically apart. First of its kind There are multiple apps and gadgets to measure vitals in individuals. HYGIEIA provides a holistic approach to health from preemptive measuring of vitals to valid, authentic and secure consultation from a certified doctor. Given the global situation of pandemic and movement only for essentials, this gadget will prove to be groundbreaking, if not a necessity in the coming times. This gadget will enable our senior citizens to be self- dependent as well as avoid emergency treatments and expenditures. "Prevention is better than cure" the old adage is the underlying theme of HYGIEIA.
