In their own words
We are an Indian Farmer Producer Company, registered under Companies Act , 2013, under PRODUCE fund of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). Our 125 founding women farmers started the organization on 21st January, 2015 with the facilitation of Nari Utthan Sansthan and Native Establishment of Empowered Women Society (NEEW). Originally registered as Mahashakti Milk Producer Company Limited we decided to rebrand ourselves in 2019-20 as Mahashakti Conservation and Organic Farming Producer Company Limited (MAHASHAKTI COFARMIN PCL). Today we are a proud family of more than 4000 women farmers as our shareholders and new members are joining the family on a daily basis. Before COVID crisis we achieved a collective turnover of around 1.5 million USD. The pandemic made us realise that , that organic agriculture must be advocated and practiced fiercely, as organic food adds to our nutritional requirements and immunity in most natural way. For pursuing this and further to promote eco friendly farm practices we have taken up the project COFARMIN (Conservation and Organic Farming Interventions). Project COFARMIN, put together by Mr. Jeetendra Singh, facilitates creation of women oriented collective farming enterprises engaged in high turnover, high profit and zero risk farming, along the principles of conservation and organic agriculture. Thus ensuring reduced agriculture emissions, reduced irrigation requirement, enhanced per hectare farm profits, financial and social empowerment of women and local area economic development. We are executing project COFARMIN in collaboration with many leading agriculture research institutions as ICAR, IIPR, NRCSS, NSC, NHRDF etc along with many MNCs agriculture sector as ADVANTA-UPL, PCCPL, UBINCORE, EM3, Adventa, Bayer, Syngenta, Jaipur Bio Fertilizers, etc.
