The Objects for which the MANM Foundation is established are: (1) To work for the social welfare objective of saving lives from drowning and other accidents due to unsafe conditions at water-bodies and other public or work places; and to design, develop, implement, execute or employ comprehensive pro-active measures, for the purpose of bringing improvement in infrastructure, and the management thereof, at all kinds of water-bodies and other places, for prevention of accidents. (2) To inculcate Safety Attitude among children, the youth and people in general; through imparting education, training and skilling on safety, life-saving, life-guarding, first-aid, swimming; developing and disseminating disaster or emergency response and rescue measures; establishing, running or supporting study centers, schools, colleges or other institutions to fulfill the need of suitable manpower in the field of safety; undertaking research and analysis of statistics, law and policy relating to drowning prevention and public safety; organizing activities, sports events and conferences; publishing information and education material in all forms; providing support and counsel to the families of victims of accidents; and spreading awareness for furthering the above public-safety objectives of preventing loss of life due to drowning and other accidents. (3) To make the drowning prevention and other public safety interventions practical and viable by developing, supporting and implementing sustainable strategies that will involve the youth and create direct and indirect employment opportunities for them - in both rural and urban areas - in the field of public safety and in the work of inventing or implementing new ideas, methods and techniques suitable to the economic, social or geographical conditions of their locality.
