MATTERiiX Panels [Emmedue®] are flexible and absolutely versatile system, thanks to which it is possible to realize earthquake resistant buildings up to 20 floors and architectural structures, both the simple and the very complex ones. Method of Construction The panels can be easily handled transported by one/two operators, even in the assembled way and, when the dimensions exceed 4 m2. Afterwards, during the assembling phase, it can be worked and manually positioned just by one operator / mason / labourers without the use of lifting equipments. This facilitates and speeds up the installation of the panels in any situation. These operations do no demand any specialized labourers. Composition of the EMMEDUE PANEL The basic element is made of: 1. A foam polystyrene core that is self extinguishing and chemically inert with varying density and thickness depending on panel type. 2. Electro welded steel wire mesh made of galvanized drawn steel wires placed on both sides of polystyrene sheet and connected by means of joints of the same material. The wire gauge of the net varies according to panel type and mesh direction. The aim is that of providing a system of industrialized modular panels that bodies requiring shorter erection time compared to the conventional systems, permits to copy with structural and load bearing functions, offering in the same time a fast assembling and laying, high thermal and sound coefficient and a wide range of shapes and finishes that may be achieved during the building process. Technical Conditions 1. The production capability and quality of the panels‟ vis-à-vis requirements specified and competence of the technical persons for design and proper erection of the panels at site shall need verification for each plant/ establishment engaged in the production and execution of the system. 2. The Certificate holder shall inform Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council [BMTPC], Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, New Delhi – 110 003, as and when any plant is set up in India. The Company shall provide full details of design, manufacture and erection of the panels to the agency who may be engaged for production and construction. 3. The Company shall also provide necessary training to the technical persons of the agency engaged for production, design and construction. 4. The Certificate holder shall provide a detailed Quality Assurance System for production and execution of the system in the field. 5. The Company shall submit evidence of performance of the G+3 or higher structure against earthquake forces as per IS 1893 (Part 1):2002 before undertaking project using load bearing wall panels for structures more than G+3 storey. 6. The Certificate will be reviewed after one year when more information and experience is available in India. We are looking for seed-money of Rs.2.50 crores to kick-start the project a) buying of land needed up to 5 acres in setting up the manufacturing plant, & b) to bring Machinery from Italy, and arrange funds through FDI [the details can be discussed on personal meetings]. The Government of India has vested the authority for the operation of the Scheme with BMTPC through Gazette Notification No. 1-16011/5/99 H-II in the Gazette of India No. 49 dated 4th December, 1999.
