Mould Track India Pvt. Ltd. (MTIPL) is the first Indian company to develop an integrated Mould Management System that combines IoT-based hardware with advanced mould data tracking software. This system replaces traditional mechanical shot counters, which only record mould cycles and require manual data collection. The old method is slow, costly, dependent on physical visits, and vulnerable to human error. Mechanical counters also provide very limited information and can be removed, making it easier for unauthorized parties to copy moulded products, resulting in counterfeit items entering the market at lower prices. MTIPL’s IoT-enabled digital shot counter solves these issues by automatically collecting mould data and sending it directly to the mould owner via the internet. This eliminates the need for personnel to travel to manufacturing sites and ensures that real-time, accurate, and reliable information is available without manual involvement. Built-in sensors prevent the hardware from being removed, thereby protecting mould designs and preventing illegal duplication during production. Once installed, the system provides continuous insights into mould performance. It offers data on real-time production counts, current efficiency levels, deviations from expected efficiency, mould location, mould life, and maintenance schedules. All information is available online in a structured format and can be accessed from anywhere, transforming moulds into live, data-generating assets instead of static tools. A major advantage of this system is its ability to help large organizations create a digital “Mould Library.” This enables companies to track, reuse, recycle, or modify old moulds at significantly lower cost and time, while also promoting sustainability through increased steel reuse in mould manufacturing. Over time, this technology can generate crucial industry-wide data such as market size, number of active companies, import statistics, and standard mould dimensions.
