MYCUSAQUA LLP
Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu
In their own words
Mycusaqua is an aquaculture technology company focused on helping large-scale shrimp farmers improve productivity from their existing farms. The company addresses one of the major limitations in intensive shrimp farming: accumulated sludge at the pond bottom, which creates low-oxygen zones, anaerobic conditions, harmful gas formation, pathogen growth, shrimp stress, disease risk, and reduced pond performance. Aquamom provides a pond-bottom sludge aeration and management solution that aerates the accumulated sludge layer where it remains at the bottom of the pond. Instead of removing sludge or depending only on probiotic-based bioremediation, the solution improves oxygen availability directly at the pond bottom. This supports better organic matter decomposition, improves pond-bottom health, and helps farmers increase the carrying capacity of their existing ponds. The company’s solution is especially relevant for capacity-constrained large-scale shrimp farmers who want to increase output from their current farms without immediately expanding into new land, where soil and water conditions may require years of experimentation.
