NIJO is an AI companion for children aged 3–8, built inside a soft plush form factor — no screen, no camera, just voice. It runs on an ESP32-based hardware unit and connects to a cloud AI pipeline built on Speech-to-Text, a Large Language Model, and emotionally expressive Text-to-Speech with regional language support including Hindi and English. NIJO is a character with personality — it tells stories, sparks curiosity, teaches good habits, plays games and talks to kids the way a friend does. It answers weird questions without killing curiosity. It is not addictive like digital media but engaging enough to hold attention and inspire real-world interaction. For parents, NIJO comes with a companion mobile app offering full device control, weekly child assessments, psychology analysis, parental alerts for inappropriate queries, family mode, parental instructions, full memory control, and pre-school learning progress tracking. NIJO solves two problems — mobile addiction in children and the growing emotional gap between busy parents and their kids. Privacy-first by design — hardware mute disconnects the mic directly from the circuit. Zero data sold. Built by Neuro Sapiens Private Limited, Delhi. Our custom Hindi emotional TTS model is trained on the IITKGP Hindi Emotional Speech Corpus across 7 emotional tones. NIJO is our first step toward a future where everyone has a personal AI companion — not an app, but something real you can hold.
