In 2017, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas started contemplating the legalization of doorstep delivery of diesel. Soon, it also roped in the Petroleum Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) to draft guidelines to enable the process. OilJet Fuels Pvt Ltd is a company solely established to engage in the area of Door-to-door delivery of diesel, an initiative of national oil marketing companies to rope in startups for catering to customers whose fuel requirement is large at a location of their choice. This method of delivering fuels will bypass the conventional/current ways of fuel procurement which will result in saving cost, time, and quality of service. The business process starts from collection of Diesel from nearest depots and delivery of fuels at customers doorsteps through bowsers or mobile dispensers mounted on trucks for the purpose, a safe and secure sealed delivery system which is fully automated with latest technologies like e-order, live tracking, e-billing, geo-fencing, etc Doorstep diesel delivery solves three pain points: inadequate monitoring (issues of spillage and adulteration), storage infrastructure (huge spends for managing large inventories), and environmental hazards (unsafe transportation causing high carbon emissions). Doorstep delivery also reduces congestion at fueling stations and frees up roadways. This alternative fuel retailing system allows startups to become FuelEnts (Fuel+ Entrepreneurs) and as per the available authorized reports itself, Door-to-door diesel delivery could spiral into a major market in India soon which will lead to the creation of wealth and employment. There has never been a time of greater change. A new era of online presence has begun, and consumers are fully embracing online sales. Globally, 82% of all consumers have shopped online within three months. A total of 2.1 billion people are expected to buy goods online by 2021. Consumers order more things online, expecting more control and faster deliveries. Disruptive technologies, such as droids and drones, are shaking up entire delivery chains. Emerging tech players such as Uber Freight and Post-mates are changing the dynamics of the competitive landscape.
