Activity: To promote, own, acquire, erect, construct, establish, maintain, improve, manage, operate and alter facilities for generation of electrical power through conventional and non-conventional methods including wind, tidal waves, coal, gas, lignite, oil, biomass, waste, thermal, solar, hydel and geo-hydel sources; and to carry on, control, take on hire or lease power plants, co-generation plants, energy conservation projects, energy storage systems, power houses, and transmission and distribution systems for the generation, distribution, transmission and supply of electrical energy; and to buy, sell, supply, exchange, market, function as a licensee and otherwise deal in electrical power and energy to State Electricity Boards, State Governments, appropriate authorities, licensees, specific industrial units and other consumers for industrial, commercial, agricultural, household and any other purposes in India or elsewhere, in such areas as may be specified by the State Government, Central Government, local authorities, State Electricity Boards or other competent authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and any statutory modification or re-enactment thereof and the rules made thereunder.
