Orangewood Labs (OWL) is a design-led robotics startup from India backed by Y-Combinator, California, the world’s most prestigious startup incubator (its alumni includes Dropbox, Airbnb, Reddit and Stripe). OWL is developing low cost, versatile robotic and automation technology with a mission to disrupt the furniture industry throughout the world. It is based in Noida, India and San Francisco, USA. We develop, design and fabricate massive 3D Printer-esque wood-working robots and CNCs to manufacture furniture in an on-demand, zero inventory fashion, reducing labor costs and allowing for complex designs, not easily achievable by manual workmanship thereby unlocking avenues for client customization. We are reducing the cost of robots for fully autonomous manufacturing operations and simultaneously increasing their operational capabilities to be strong market competitors in this segment. Our team of both young and experienced mechanical, electronics and software engineers brings together a cumulative of 20 years of core robotics expertize and are the backbone of the company. Our Founders are Abhinav Das who brings over 10 years of engineering experience having built EVOMO, one of India’s leading rural mobility ventures, Aditya Bhatia - An established Designer from NID with over 10 Million sq ft of experience under his belt and Akash Bansal - A finance expert and ex-founder of Zouk Loans from IIMA and Duke University. Keeping a keen eye on the future OWL is also embracing technologies like augmented reality and IOT to build smart furniture.
