Pathengines Technologies Private Limited was formed with the intention of developing scalable and performance-focused software solutions for Layer-2 and Layer-3 networking transport. These software solutions would differ not just from the product software, but also from supporting software such as network design and operations software. This would be enabled by the agile infrastructure components that Pathengines Technologies is currently creating (also mostly developed). The layer-2 and layer-3 products establish and maintain network connectivity and reachability, which are essential for the transit of data in a computer network. While they are not new, the dearth of well-engineered implementations that fully leverage today's hardware and operating system (OS) capabilities gives sufficient room for new manufacturers to establish themselves and compete. Newer applications, such as 5G, data centres, and cloud transports, as well as the ever, are further compelling reasons. To achieve sustainable growth, it may not be sufficient to provide software for transport products. Customers will anticipate having access to software solutions for network design, network operations, and network support. Pathengines Technologies hopes to someday become a whole software solutions supplier by expanding into these areas. These software solutions have long-term viability because they are independent of hardware platforms and technology. The product software is compatible with all platforms (based on capabilities required to support the use case). The majority of the control and management plane is based on standards, software-driven, and runs on general-purpose CPIs (such as intel X86). Any hardware acceleration may offer no perceptible benefit (as of today). The databases (rule bases – FIB, L2 FDB) are produced by the management plane and control plane (see previous comments) and are programmed into hardware (custom processors such as NPUs) via APIs provided by the vendor. In conclusion, Pathengines Technologies' innovations and thought leadership would be in the software sector. The emergence of actual carrier-grade software that can be used in a variety of USDE situations would undermine the current network transport equipment monopoly. As a result of the decline in capital costs, the direct benefactors would be the consumers. An extra benefit is that the software may be deployed in numerous use cases, including subscriber management and aggregation, access, metro, edge, core, data centre, corporate, and cloud. This allows for a standardised interface for every end-to-end deployment. This can also reduce operational expenses. Pathengines Technologies will first concentrate on software architecture, software implementation, and software quality. This aims to build and solidify the robust revenue streams of Pathengines Technologies. Innovation in these areas will also result in a patent portfolio that is robust in the future. The company's initial emphasis will not be on standards or research, but rather on the execution of what already exists in order to provide the most effective and desirable f-class products to direct customers.
