PARA-CLEANZE Disinfectant, Sterilant, Sanitizer. The desirable attributes of peracetic acid for its use as sanitizer are the ease of implementation, broad spectrum of activity even in presence of heterogeneous organic matter, absence of persistent toxic or mutagenic residues as byproducts, no quenching requirements (i.e. no chlorination), small dependence on pH, short contact time, the effectiveness for primary and secondary effluent. Peracetic is a strong oxidant and disinfectant. Its oxidation potential is larger than that of chlorine or chlorine dioxide. Hydrogen peroxide HP is also disinfectant contributing to disinfectant power of the PAA mixture is more potent antimicrobial agent being rapidly active at low concentration against wide spectrum of microorganisms. pH : less than 2, Specific gravity : 1.1 Most active for 23 germicides : Bacterial : 0.001% (10 ppm), Fungicidal : 0.003 (30 ppm), Sporoidal : at 0.3 % (300 ppm). The disinfectant efficiency of PAA towards microorganisms can be ranked, Bacterias > viruses > bacterial spores > protozoan cysts A preparation of peracetic acid has been approved by Food and Drug administration in USA 1986 giving clearance for ingredients as indirect food additives in sanitizing solution. Subsequently the EPA registration was issued the US department of agriculture. Intended Use : To control microbial growth in wash water that contacts fruits and vegetables that are not raw agriculture commodities. Peracetic acid (PAA) has been suggested as an alternative to aldehyde derivatives for high level disinfection because of its limited toxicity and effectiveness against bacterial, fungi, spores and viruses. Its performance has been proven beyond doubt. It is being used in various prominent Poultry, Dairy, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Sugar Industries,RO/ETP/Water Treatment plants, Pulp and Paper & Textile ndustries and Hospitals.
