A platform for rural entrepreneurs We want to create a platform for semi-skilled/skilled/self-employed rural entrepreneurs (including women) working in small set-ups/from home- and connect them to the consumers across India through a web-based platform/App. This will allow them a direct interaction with the consumers who can buy their products. This platform will bring in rural women who work from home/have skills and create products such as hand-made cosmetics, pickles, jams, craft etc and empower them to be financially independent and be active participants in the economic growth. There are lot of innovations in sectors such as farming, dairy-industry, bamboo-furniture, sustainable ventures that are environmental friendly and contribute towards sustainable development across India. The platform will connect these entrepreneurs with the end-customer so that they get their due. To take care of delivery mechanism, the idea is to bring Indian Postal Service on board as a partner for their last mile connectivity and reach in rural areas. This will in turn create avenues for employment generation. The second platform- www.piksandmore.com, is to create a repository of communication resources. The idea is to capture the social development challenges and innovative solution through photos, videos, graphics that can be used for communication, education and awareness. The photo database will also serve as an important tool for government and organisations for their work. For-eg- we plan to have drone imagery, vulnerability photos, videos that can help in better disaster management, assessment and mitigation.
