In their own words

A Note on Prima Farm Foods Private Limited India is ranked among the top producers of wheat, rice & pulses in the world coupled with second largest producer of vegetables and fruits. India produced 102.48 million metric tonnes of fruits and 200.45 million metric tonnes of vegetables (Source APEDA 2020). Vegetables and fruits are highly perishable, the post harvest loss is estimated at 35% (CII, Mckinsey 1997). Considering the above: Total Production of Vegetables and Fruits = 302.93 million metric tonnes Considering 20% of population has malnutrition = 0.28 billion Thus, if wastage is reduced about 280 gms of veggies will be available for population affected with malnutrition. Prima Farm Foods is innovating in the following ways to add value to the existing system of production and sales of vegetables and fruits: - Higher realisation for farmer per kg of vegetables & fruits sold as nothing goes waste since those that are directly not sold are processed; - More affordable vegetables and fruits meaning the price remains constant and hoarding does not happen; - Scheduling harvest of vegetables in our own farm of 20 acres by controlling the sowing time intervals, thus farmer doesn't get the entire crop production in few days, reducing the chance of distress sell but controls harvest that is spread staggered over a month. The same is being taught to partner farmers; - Reducing wastage by value addition to the vegetables and fruits. Those veggies and fruits that have a mark over it due to transportation or during growing is converted into value added products that are sold as packaged products in the market; - Reinventing the old traditional methods of farming or soil rejuvenation like use of cow urine, cow dung mixed with neem paste, curd, jaggery, etc. Including picking up egg shells from egg roll shops to process them to add calcium to the soil or over ripened banana is crushed and put back to the soil, etc. - Traditional processing to conserve the nutrients in rice like Dhinki Kuta Chawla, etc. & pulses as well as processing of products. - Creating a supply chain to bring in vegetables every two days from across the country from farmers that would ultimately reduce distress sale and make available veggies for several communities who stay in Bhubaneswar or elsewhere. - At Prima we do not need to use chemical agents that need to ripen a fruit or enhance the color of the vegetable as our storage time is almost negligible as all of them are processed, thus ensuring health of the customer. The concept of FARM-TO-PLATE, coined many years ago had several loose links that has not been proven in true sense meaning the same operator growing its own vegetables and then processing to reduce wastage to the extent of delivering cooked/processed food to the doorstep has not been successful. Prima Farm Foods has successfully demonstrating the same for the past almost 2 years.

The neighbourhood

This record carries no locality line, so the district is the finest ring we can place it in.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A record existing here means a record exists, not that a business is trading.
