Purandar Highlands Farmers Producer Company Ltd was incorporated on 27/01/2021 by 13 people who are full time farmers and through all the odds have carved a niche for their quality produce and its marketing. This individual success and our failures in the journey sparked a thought about sharing and educating the entire GI tagged Figs and Custard Apple farmers in the Purandar taluka, located near Pune. Today, we provide a complete solution to the farmers in the taluka, right from selecting the right saplings, pruning and implementation of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP), round the clock assistance and consultation and expansion of the market reach by following proper packaging practices and offer services to our clients with respect to sorting, grading and packaging as per their requirement. Our company has also started primary processing (pulping and slicing) and our research and development on unique and innovative 4 processed products made from the figs and custard apple. The unique part about this is, that never before has such an initiative taken for these crops. Bayer CropScience signed their India's first agreement for Figs and Custard Apple with us for training and developing our farmers for sustainable agriculture and implementation of GAP practices. GreenPod Labs another startup from Chennai has joined us in helping our efforts for shelf life extension of these highly perishable fruits. In coming days we are introducing innovative and dedicated sorting, grading and packaging practices for these sensitive crops and also unique processed products that would be world market ready. We are sure of creating a revolution in the region.
