At Banether, M/s Radha Madhav Eco Pvt Ltd, we are dedicated to innovating and improving traditional leather through our plant-based alternative made from banana stems. Our mission is to create high-quality, eco-friendly leather that addresses the significant environmental and ethical issues associated with conventional leather production. Innovation is at the core of what we do. By transforming banana stem waste into valuable leather, which is typically burned and contributes to pollution. Our production process avoids harmful chemicals like chromium, prevalent in traditional leather mfg, which contaminates water bodies and ecosystems. Traditional leather mfg also consumes vast amounts of water, further straining this scarce resource and perpetuates animal cruelty through inhumane livestock farming practices. It also significantly contributes to global warming due to methane emissions from livestock, with a potential 25-30 times greater than carbon dioxide over the long term. By eliminating the need for livestock, we help mitigate one of the key contributors to global warming. Polyurethane (PU) leather, made from petroleum-based synthetics also has significant environmental drawbacks, its production emits harmful chemicals, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which contribute to air pollution and have adverse health effects. Also, PU leather is not biodegradable, leading to long-term environmental waste. Hence, its overall environmental footprint remains huge. These issues demand innovative solutions to reduce environmental footprints, eliminate toxic processes, conserve water, and prevent animal suffering. Our team of dedicated R&D experts continually works to enhance product quality and develop cutting-edge solutions, ensuring a superior alternative to traditional options.
