Objective The aim of this project is to develop a low-cost solution for automating the rectification process of low thread tension during the process of weaving at household semi-automatic spinning machine. Even though there are advanced machineries available at modernized spinning mills, it is not economically possible to bring that solutions affordable to all middle-class weavers. So, we concentrated on bringing a low-cost solution that at the meanwhile enhances the spinning process of the weavers. How your product is different from the others? As a general, there are numerous solutions available for the same problem, but those solutions are high cost in which the mid-level weavers cannot buy. Even the major advantage of our work is that there is no need for changing their existing weaving machine, the proposed solution can be installed in their existing solution. Our proposed solution makes use of highly reliable microcontroller that enables the process highly reliable thereby making the product highly scalable. Technological perspective The cutting-edge technology of using limit switch sensor will make process more accurate in the digital form as it directly involves the usage of thread tension as its input analog parameter to be sensed. The most recent microcontroller was used in decision making process without latency. The use of relay will used as two-way solution, i.e., to protect the microcontroller and switch the weaving machine on or off according to the microcontroller logic. Working The Concept of low-cost yarn tension detection involves the process of incorporation of sensors to the existing weaving machines to make the semi-automatic process completely automated. Limit switch sensor are inserted in the shuttle that carries the weft thread. The position and output from the limit switch are used as the core value for the overall process. The values of the limit switch is fed to the micro-controller, in which a logic operation is made such that when the output from limit switch (i.e., the tension of the yarn goes low) is low then the microcontroller is made to switch the relay to off position. The normal tension of the tarn thread makes the output of the limit switch is high thereby making the relay output high. Thus, the use of microcontroller will automate the process of monitoring the yarn thread tension detection enabling the weaving process hassle free. Economic feasibility As the project involves only low-cost limit switch sensor and low-cost microcontroller, the entire product is highly affordable to the weavers when compared to the industrial machineries that may cost upto lakhs. Future Scope of the project We have made a small change in the shuttle boat that carries the yarn thread, in future the shape and working of the entire process will be refined with the optimized design strategies.
