The Ramanathapuram Farmer Producer Company Limited (RFPCL) was established in 2015 by the NABARD. It has 2000 stockholders and a paid-up capital of 30 lakhs. The RFPCL is constantly engaged in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly farming techniques through Non-Pesticide Management of Agriculture (NPMA) and capacity building of Community-Based Organizations. (CBOs). During the COVID-19 pandemic, the RFPCL delivered monthly groceries and free supplies to vulnerable individuals. The RFPCL has been designated as a Community-Based Business Organization (CBBO) by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) in 2022 and has been authorised to promote six and fifteen FPOs, correspondingly. The RFPCL has also purchased 18 acres of property in order to promote integrated farming. The business intends to use this form to produce organic manure and organic pest control, which it will then distribute to farmers. Furthermore, the business is training farmers in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to help them improve their farming techniques, increase productivity, and decrease crop losses. This will assist farmers in increasing their income and promoting sustainable agriculture in the area. The company's efforts to support integrated farming and provide farmers with GAP capacity building will be a significant step towards promoting sustainable agriculture and increasing farmer income.
