The idea behind the Startup(yet to be recognized) is as follows: PROBLEM: The Startup aims to address the problem of Hidden Hunger. CUSTOMER SEGMENTS: # Working Professionals, # College /University Students. #SOLUTION : Sweet Potato based,Millets nourished Ready To Cook(RTC) and Ready To Eat(RTE) products focussing on the targetted segments of the customers. # PRODUCTS INVOLVED ARE : Snack Products (Sev,Ganthia,Chips),Flakes,Murukku,Pasta, Vermicelli,Papad,Cookies. # INNOVATION : [ ] Value added products from nutrition dense Sweet Potato thus to tap the untapped potential of the locally plentily available produce. [ ] Commercialisation of Techology developed by ICAR- Central Tuber Crops Research Institute(CTCRI), Thiruvanathapuram and it's Regional Centre at Bhubaneswar. [ ] Commercialization of Technology developed by CSIR-Central Food Technology Research Institute(CFTRI),Mysuru. # EARLY ADOPTORS : [ ] IT Professionals. [ ] College/University students staying at hostels. Odisha is one of the largest producer of Sweet Potato producing about 3.00 lacs tonnes of Sweet Potato spreading over a farming area of 30,000 Hectares.(Source: Agricultural Produce Dossier,Compiled by CII). Sweet Potato is rich in Vitamin A and antioxidants like Vitamin E which can prevent coronary disorders and cancer. It is Gluten Free and having low Glycemic Index. The Startup can produce wealth both for itself and the farmers. It (the Startup) earns profits by manufacturing and marketing value added products from Sweet Potato thus making available Healthy,Tasty,Nutritious foods to the targetted segments of the customers. The Startup procures the produce directly from the farmers .Thereby the farmers will get remunerative prices for their produce. With the increase in demand the crop area will expand .So,more produce which can be sold in remunerative prices resulting in more money at the hands of the farmers. Scaling up of the business by the Startup will create both direct employment in the manufacturing process and also in distribution areas.Market demand will encourage farmers to expand the crop area leading to increased employment in the Agricultural Sector. The Startup uses Sweet Potato as a major ingredient and nourishes it with Millets to manufacture affordable nutritious foods from locally available agricultural produce thereby addressing the the societal and health problems relating to Malnutrition.
