In their own words

At, Restay India Private Limited, we want to become a Net Zero business, and we try to make our luxury stays as environmentally friendly as possible. We want every part of our stay to be as good for the environment as possible. We save beautiful furniture that was going to be thrown away and install our own hot composters. We hope that some of the ways we take care of the environment will inspire a customer to do the same at home. Managing Self Catering Waste First of all, we were shocked to find out that some of what we thought we were recycling wasn't actually being used again. Our local council made some big changes which have impacted how we manage our waste. We have put the following steps into place for our recycling, hot composting, and ReWorked systems. Standard recycling is... for all paper, cardboard, hard plastic, tins, and cans. Changed... to work with soft plastics. Here is where we ask our guests to recycle any items that can't go in the local recycling bins or be recycled in other ways. It is the best way to get rid of all waste, and it helps keep trash out of landfills. When the box is full, it is turned into a new kind of packaging, and the contents are shredded ahead of time. After the plastic is shredded, it is sent to a mixing area where it is mixed with polymers from ocean cleans, verge cleans, food waste, and cosmetic waste. Last, the materials are glued together to make a board that can be used again or turned into something new on-site. Composting with heat......we've put Hot Composters in both our home and customer self-catering accommodation. Literally, ALL food waste goes in it. Yes, that means meat and dairy too! The following is what hot composters do: - Produces compost in just 30-90 days! - A 200-litre bin can hold at least 5 kg of garbage per week - The composter was designed and made in the UK out of expanded polypropylene, which is 100% recyclable. We use the compost in our vegetable garden and in the retreat's veggie gardens. This is all on top of the efforts we already make to encourage a zero-waste outlook. We encourage nose-to-tail eating with our locally sourced food boxes and our messages about recycling show how easy it is for guests to get involved. In fact, we actively discourage anything being thrown away - apart from a short list of items like sanitary products - that is now the ONLY thing that goes into the commercial waste bins (and we’re researching if we can do anything with that too!) We encourage customers, our guests, in a gentle way to take our zero-waste approach with them when they leave. There is information about sustainable methods and why we think they are so important to protect our natural environment in all of the retreats and on our website. We hope that the ease of these systems will make a customer want to use some of them in their own homes. It's great that our hard work is already paying off! When we post about sustainability on our social media, many of our past guests have sent us messages telling us which projects they liked.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A record existing here means a record exists, not that a business is trading.

Is this your company?

Everything here comes from public government records. If something is wrong, the authoritative place to correct it is the Startup India portal itself, and we will pick the correction up on the next monthly snapshot. To flag an error on our side, write to trust@indianstartupmap.com.
