SAKUMI LIFESCIENCES PRIVATE LIMITED

Kalaburagi, Karnataka

DPIIT recognised District Biotechnology

In their own words

Sakumi Lifesciences is a biotech startup committed to solving the dual crisis of organic waste management and sustainable protein scarcity. Our mission is to eliminate food waste from landfills by leveraging advanced Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion technology. We operate a unique decentralized model supported by proprietary climate-controlled rearing facilities. This innovation allows us to breed superior BSF strains year-round, regardless of weather conditions. We partner with municipalities and bulk waste generators, supplying them with BSF neonates, eggs, and 5-Day-Old Larvae to facilitate rapid, in-situ waste processing. This reduces decomposition time significantly compared to traditional methods. Beyond waste reduction, Sakumi is a production powerhouse. We upcycle organic waste into premium sustainable products: insect protein meal and BSF oil for the animal feed industry, and organic frass fertilizer for regenerative agriculture. Our approach not only mitigates greenhouse gas emissions but also generates dignified employment and creates a scalable, profitable circular economy.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A record existing here means a record exists, not that a business is trading.

Is this your company?

Everything here comes from public government records. If something is wrong, the authoritative place to correct it is the Startup India portal itself, and we will pick the correction up on the next monthly snapshot. To flag an error on our side, write to trust@indianstartupmap.com.
