In their own words
ABOUT DUCKHAWK Duckhawk is a hyper local e-commerce platform connecting customers to sellers. Duckhawk mainly aims to include people who are not yet connected to the market digitally. We know that 70% of Indian population belongs to rural areas where smart phone users are a minority and internet availability and knowledge is rare. In such a case Duckhawk sure to include them in the world of online shopping with the help of various Duckhawk ordering points where one can view their needs on a big screen and order accordingly. Besides that everyone has the option to order through the Duckhawk website or mobile application. TEAM BEHIND IT The team is built out of different skills and abilities and are expected to perform accordingly. Chinmaya Ranjan Sahoo - The CEO is required to analyse the market and take decisions accordingly to develop a product. Atul Agarwal-CTO & Balgopal Patro-CTO are required for the development of the application, website & Duckhawk Ordering points. Aishwarya Priyadarsini-CMO makes the marketing strategies Biswaranjan-CLO manages the logistics office PROBLEMS WE FOCUS ON Every new idea is born out of a suffering individual trying to save it's peers from the same. We have never noticed that we waste about 3-15 days to get an item of our need. If it's an emergency, we burn petrol and reach the nearest mall, search within thousand products to find the one and pay double the amount while standing in long queues. While building "digital India" we want our people to be able to rely more upon online shopping and this dream will be fulfilled only when all Indians including 70% of rural residents who are still left out of present day shopping experience can relish facilities availed in cities. Most people don't carry a smartphone and some who do, do not have proper knowledge and awareness regarding online shopping. Even when they order they fall into traps of frauds, product misplacement and payment losses. One does not know the exact time of arrival and wait whole day for the product and then there is problem when the desired payment method is unavailable. In case one is not satisfied they have to again go through a process for return and refund. This becomes a huge fuss and the money gets blocked in most sites. Losses are felt also by the sellers who bears the cost of damage during transits. So neither customers nor sellers are keen in e-commerce making digital India non-achievable. SOLUTIONS WE PROVIDE At Duckhawk, we understand what people struggle with. While being in a process of Digital India we put our best to include more. We have developed Duckhawk order points (DOP) to make online ordering easy and accessible for rural people. We aim to reach the most remote corners. To be able to do the same we target mostly the local shop sellers and small manufacturing units. They ensure safe and damage free transition while maintaining the trust of customers. Our delivery boy delivery the product within an hour and the customer will be given some time to check then and there. They can return or replace it instantly avoiding any fuss or conditions and pay only if one wishes to keep. We don't accept payments over the website which will stop website frauds and thefts. One can track their product on transit live from their homes. One can now track, check and secure their products. We know it's not all and we won't stop to make online shopping easy, smooth and safe. IMPACTS At Duckhawk we put our best to bind those 70% rural indians who are still left out from the idea of Digital India. It's not digital India if majority people don't have access to proper internet facilities and are not able to get the same luxury of online shopping as in observed in cities. DuckHawk ordering points are quite a revolution in places where network connectivity is highly poor and smartphone users are a minority. These points are a medium to reach customers living in most remote corners of India. We provide a platform to local sellers and small manufacturers who could initially reach few kilometers of their region to expand their reign. DOP is also a medium of social awareness through digital advertisement. Women who had to go out at nights to buy emergency items can get it at their doorstep without having to endanger their security. To avoid frauds, misplacement and damage we have developed customized delivery time, live tracking, "instant return" and "Try before you buy ". Using these ideas a customer can schedule the time of product arrival, track live their products over transit and check the product and return it instantly then and there without paying a single penny. An innovative idea succeeding socially has the utmost duty to protect the environment. Duckhawk supports the ban of plastics and encourages jute bags and cloth packaging instead. To avoid the cost of high petrol prices and the pollution caused by the smoke emitted from them, we plan to adopt battery driven vehicles for delivery. Moreover, solar powered machines are used to power the machines installed at Duckhawk ordering points.
