Shaktira Private Limited is developing LOCL (Promote Local), an innovative hospitality initiative aimed at transforming the Indian hotel industry by integrating local economies into hotel operations. LOCL is not a hotel brand; it is a business model and technology-driven ecosystem that enables hotels to prioritize local sourcing, local employment, local culture, and local entrepreneurship while delivering authentic hospitality experiences. The project addresses a significant gap in the hospitality sector, where hotels often rely on centralized procurement systems that provide limited opportunities for local producers, artisans, farmers, and small businesses. As a result, much of the economic value generated by tourism leaves the destination instead of benefiting the surrounding community. LOCL introduces a structured and technology-enabled framework that allows participating hotels to procure food, furnishings, décor, guest amenities, handicrafts, textiles, wellness products, and other operational requirements from verified local suppliers. A digital platform will facilitate supplier onboarding, quality verification, procurement management, inventory planning, order tracking, and performance monitoring, making local sourcing reliable, transparent, and commercially viable. Under the LOCL model, hotels will serve authentic regional cuisine prepared from locally sourced ingredients, showcase local architecture and interior design, display regional artwork, and create spaces for local artisans and entrepreneurs to present and sell their products. Hotels will also encourage cultural performances, heritage experiences, and destination-specific activities that allow guests to experience the unique identity of the region. The project follows the principle of “Think Local, Source Local, Employ Local, Experience Local.”
