Sheltup is a people-first cultural hosting platform that turns travel and social interaction into genuine human connection. We connect members across India who open their homes — not as landlords, but as hosts who live alongside their guests. This one structural rule changes everything: what might otherwise be a simple accommodation booking becomes a shared cultural experience. We offer two ways to connect: Cultural Stays, where members host each other for days or weeks, exchanging stories, food, and ways of life; and Baithak, an evening gathering format for music, conversation, or a shared activity — designed to build community even within the same city, without any travel needed. Members can choose to stay with people who share their interests — whether that's classical music, sport, or technology — or deliberately step outside their world and connect with someone entirely different. The platform is flexible, commission-based, and built to scale across India's cities, towns, and villages. Sheltup doesn't just offer accommodation — it creates social infrastructure. It draws youth out of digital isolation, directs tourism income toward rural homes and Tier 3 towns, gives rural homeowners a platform to become cultural ambassadors and micro-entrepreneurs, and gives international visitors a way to experience India as it actually is — not through a packaged tour, but around someone's dinner table.
