SIL is formed primarily to provide services to International Maritime Trade. International Maritime Trade forms more than 70% of EXIM business of India. This includes in trading of Bulk, Break-Bulk, Containers, Automobiles, Agricultural Products at various Major and Minor Ports of India. To facilitate the entities involved in the international maritime trade, SIL has envisaged to offer following services in phase-wise manner. 1. Supervision of cargo loading and unloading from the vessels 2. Undertaking loading/ unloading operations from vessels 3. Inter-carting the cargo/ containers/ vehicles from and to storage yard from and to the vessel side 4. Tallying of cargo/ containers/ vehicles 5. Providing Pre Dispatch Inspection (PDI) Services for export oriented vehicle/ equipment 6. Leasing of vehicles for maritime service providers/ terminals 7.
