Due to the Covid-19 crisis, millions of people have lost their jobs and are fleeing back to their native states. Migrant workers desperately need jobs to sustain their livelihoods and support their families. Quite ironically, many households and businesses (especially real estate construction sites) that want to restart now after Unlock, are unable to do so because a large chunk of their workforce has migrated elsewhere. To resolve this demand-supply gap, Bharat Shramik helps to match blue-collar workers and employers according to their areas. This is done using a simple phone call-based registration process for workers (available in 10 local languages) where they can dial the helpline and report their skill and the pin code where they want to work, and a website for employers where they can post and manage their worker requirements and search for suitable workers in their areas.
