Problem we are trying to solve : - There is excessive use of non recyclable plastic in small and medium sized food contact (Cups, Straws, plates) and wrapping materials (Milk packets) endangering species in oceans , causing land pollution and clogging of drains during heavy rain etc.. - Available alternatives are either too expensive / only degrades (*degradable does not necessarily mean compostable) / composts only in specific circumstances and in composting machines and not in natural landfills or Oceans Current Scenario : - Bio-plastic is a suitable alternative to this problem. PLA is a widely used Bio-plastic especially in the food packing industry, however it is not compostable in natural conditions or landfill or water bodies. - Starch based bio-plastics has a 60% share in world’s bio-plastic market. The hydrophilic nature of starch polymer makes it less functional in the food packaging and food contact industry. - Extremely High prices of bio-plastic also makes them unaffordable to the mass public, especially in developing countries. Our Solution : - Design a new age bio-plastic that is affordable, sealable and moisture resistant to suit food packaging and contact materials. - Bio- plastics which are not just degradable but biodegradable/compostable in a landfills or Oceans Our USP : - Moisture resistance suitable for liquid packaging - Bio-degradable even in Natural circumstances - Patentable process technologies that makes it most affordable compared to alternatives.
