StarMelee.com will radically change the manner in which, small diamonds, are sold, by combining, the best of certification, and becoming an online facilitator, between large manufacturers and consumers. Primarily a B-to-B platform. StarMelee.com offers small diamonds online on their platform in the following manner: - It enables smaller customers to buy natural diamonds of large manufacturers, either on price or based on name/brand. - Ensures consistent standardized assortment (certification) by StarMelee.com. - Allows the ease of purchasing in half sieve sizes. - Makes purchasing transparent through comparative pricing, where manufacturers set their own prices of their goods based on the standardized assortment (carried out by StarMelee), thereby allowing customers to select either by the cheapest price or the manufacturer (Brand) of their preference. - Diamonds are delivered in tamper proof sealed parcels (created in association with the Indian Institute Of Packaging (IIP)) units/SKU’s, of 0.25 cents, 0.50 cents, and 1.00 carat, custom quantity parcels. - Our initial offer is for Three Qualities (VVS1/2, VS1/2, SI1/2), Two Colors (DEF, GH), and 29 Half Sieve Sizes (+000 to -14). Thereby offering Six Qualities into 29 Half Sieve sizes in denominations of TW 0.25 cents, TW 0.50 cents, TW 1.00 carat. - Our vendors are: RosyBlue, Mahendra Brothers & Laxmi Diamond. Our business model allows for: • Goods are supplied by the Manufacturers’ (Vendors) to StarMelee • A check is made to ensure that the Diamonds are ‘Natural’ and not LGD’s • The stocks are assorted/certified for quality in half sieve sizes • The assorted qualities are made available to customers, online in standard parcels (0.25, 0.50 and 1 carat TW) • Every SKU, carries the certification, and the logo of the Vendor • Customers can request for special packaging for their own quantity requirement for a parcel above the standard SKU sizes, e.g. SKU’s of 1-2 carats • Goods dropped in the cart, and paid for would be shipped through recognized courier services (like BVC) door to door within 24 hours (depending on destination) • All goods are packed in tamper-proof packaging, and are fully covered by insurance The target customers for the site would initially be small jewelry factories and artisans dealing in fine jewelry, where the transaction costs for buying diamonds are high, including those in India and abroad. The main advantage that the consumers get is: - Can buy diamonds only as per requirements/orders – no dead inventory - Consistent diamond assortment quality, thereby reducing the need and resources needed for buying QC - Ability to source tested natural diamonds directly from diamond manufacturers - View the supplier quantities available with prices and choose what meets their requirements - Delivery in tamper proof standard sealed parcels The primary advantage for suppliers are: - To sell small diamonds on a cash basis with payment within 3-5 days of sales - Ability to reach smaller customers (who would otherwise be too expensive to service) - Ability to price diamonds by sieve sizes thereby improving stock turns as well as overall realization from the diamonds o Price for fast moving sizes/qualities can be increased o Deals/special prices can be offered on slower moving sizes/qualities - Global Exposure For more information, Please visit: www.starmelee.com Thank You!
