In their own words
We are Suketa Social Ventures, a social enterprise from Hyderabad who work with women from distressed communities through livelihood with a focus on providing dignity and financial independence as well as with student communities through hands-on interactive sessions focusing on their holistic development. We set up food carts in a safe and secure environment of the cafeterias of degree and engineering colleges selling quality snacks at an affordable cost. We partner with credible organizations in identifying the women from distressed communities and interview them to shortlist for a two-week curated training program at Institute of Hotel Management, Hyderabad. On successful completion, we hire them to run the food carts while we take care of end-to-end operations. The women are offered the following: • Fixed income. • Social security – PF and ESI. • Travel Allowance. • Share in the profits. • Upskilling trainings On other hand, we offer engagement activities through Sensitization sessions and Social emotional learnings (SEL) modules to students at our cart locations through a yearlong engaging curriculum conducted by subject matter experts as a part of extension and outreach program with a focus on self-awareness, self-management, building relationship skills and making responsible decisions.
