India faces a severe and largely invisible food safety crisis. Millions of consumers, families, restaurant owners, and exporters have no reliable way to check whether the food they buy or serve is safe. Fruits, vegetables, fish, and meat in Indian markets routinely contain dangerous levels of pesticides, nitrates, heavy metals, and chemical preservatives used to extend shelf life. According to FSSAI reports, a significant percentage of food samples tested across India fail safety standards. Yet the only way to detect these toxins today is through expensive laboratory testing — which is time-consuming, inaccessible to ordinary people, and completely impractical at the point of purchase. This gap leaves consumers powerless and puts farmers and exporters at risk of rejection in quality-sensitive markets.
