Tensor Dynamics aims to transform the Indian industry using weather and climate analytics. Weather and climate govern our lives. Even though we use weather and climate information for our day-to-day decision-making, we do so almost subconsciously. Very few of us in India understand and appreciate the value of such information in a concrete way. More troublesome is that a similar attitude pervades the Indian industry, with a few notable exceptions like the renewable energy sector. The Indian industry is not aware of the financial implications of weather and climate information, does not know how to monetize such information and the private weather industry is almost non-existent. In contrast, the US economy values weather and climate information. A 2016 study by the US Government found that 3-6 percent (1344 Billion USD) of variability in US GDP is due to weather, the economic value of weather information is 13 Billion USD and the private weather industry has a market value of $7B. The goal of Tensor Dynamics is to lead from the front to develop the fledgling private weather industry to its full potential and make money for our investors while doing it. We are a start-up incubated at IIT Delhi. We have completed projects on renewable energy for industry leaders like NTPC and POSOCO Power Grid Corporation of India and have ongoing pilot projects with large private entities. Now we are bringing our vision and expertise to sectors like agriculture, water, transportation, entertainment, and more.
