Threadborne is a sustainability-focused startup committed to addressing the growing challenge of textile waste in India by converting it into useful, durable, and aesthetically designed products. With India being one of the world’s largest textile producers, a significant amount of fabric waste is discarded every year, leading to environmental degradation. Threadborne was founded to transform this waste into value through innovation and responsible manufacturing. The startup’s core innovation lies in processing unused and discarded textile waste into solid composite materials, which are then developed into products such as wall clocks, interior décor items, bricks, and sheets for functional and design applications. These products combine sustainability with practicality, making eco-friendly choices accessible to everyday consumers. Threadborne has successfully converted approximately 2 kilograms of textile waste into finished wall clocks, proving the feasibility and market readiness of its process. The clocks are fully developed and prepared for market entry, marking the startup’s transition from development to commercialization. Beyond product creation, Threadborne promotes circular economy principles, aiming to reduce landfill dependency while encouraging conscious consumption. With incubation support, mentorship, and initial funding assistance, Threadborne is now focused on scaling production, expanding product categories, and building partnerships to create long-term environmental and economic impact.
