UMAPATI INFRA LLP is a tech-enabled construction and mobility solutions startup working at the intersection of vehicle rental, specialized construction, and building development. We are addressing three major inefficiencies in India’s infrastructure ecosystem: underutilization of commercial vehicles, high cost and delays in construction projects, and lack of transparency in project execution. The construction industry in India loses 20-30% time due to equipment breakdowns, poor resource planning, and manual processes. At the same time, nearly 40% of commercial vehicles like tippers, loaders, and trucks remain idle, causing asset wastage for owners. Traditional contractors still operate offline with no real-time tracking, leading to cost overruns and trust issues for clients. To solve this, we have built an integrated platform that combines vehicle leasing with smart construction management. Instead of owning a large fleet, we follow an asset-light shared economy model where we onboard existing vehicle owners and deploy their vehicles on projects using GPS and IoT tracking. This allows us to offer a pay-per-use rental model where clients pay only for actual hours used, reducing their project cost by up to 25%. IoT sensors also enable predictive maintenance, which cuts vehicle downtime by 40%, and our backend system dynamically allocates idle vehicles from one site to another, increasing overall asset turnover. For construction and building projects, we introduce modular and prefabricated components for faster execution, reducing on-site construction time by 30%. Every client gets access to a digital project dashboard to monitor daily progress, material usage, labor attendance, and drone images of the site, bringing transparency that is missing in the unorganized sector. We also use BIM-based planning to optimize material cutting and reduce wastage by 15%. Our model is highly scalable across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where the equipment rental market is fragmented.
