In their own words
Hi! We're finding ways to improve biodiversity in urban areas through gardens. These gardens are to be eco-friendly, providing next to natural habitat for native city birds, pollinators, insects and other useful bugs etc. For farming community, firstly, we'll be assisting them on minimizing their crop damages due to birds. Such depredatory birds can be facilitated flowering and fruiting native plants as the food source. The All India Network for Vertebrate Pest Management, Hyderabad has done some very useful study and have successfully reduced such damages to up to 63%. Secondly, we shall also be educating rural farmers on utilizing beneficial birds for Agriculture. Such service shall be very useful for the rural farmers. A model nursery is also planned in Jaipur to supply plants that are food source for birds and pollinators. This means we'll be facilitating preferably native plants that will be rich in nectar and pollen to support our pollinators. Also, the plant nursery shall facilitate flowering and fruiting plants that provide food for birds. For awareness on pollinators, we're keen to work out a model which will bring Bee Hives to be seen in modern urban drawing rooms. This will be a Bee Hive with a transparent see through top glass developed in a controlled environment. Its single vent shall be just like an AC duct which will lead to your flower garden to facilitate in and out movement for bees. This will raise the curiosity bar for the people and they'd be able to see how these little angels are busy working for humans. As people will be able to understand and appreciate their role and contribution towards the farming community, people will adopt ways and means to enrich these little angels.
