Vernac is a platform to bridge the online gap for Indian languages, enabling companies to reach the large Indian online market. India is the second most populous country in the world, behind China. There will be over 800 million unique internet users in India, with a significant majority demanding to consume content in their language according to a Google-KPMG report. Despite the population size, and the projected growth of vernacular users, we do not see the localisation of content to Indian languages, by both new and established enterprises. This is observed even though the reach and effectiveness of services can be maximised when they are available to all users where they are, and in their language. We believe we can solve this problem by overcoming the significant supply-side deficit through a low-cost, tech-enabled solution that will redefine how businesses approach localisation. Our mission is to help enterprises and governments reach, engage and retain their users, no matter where they are or what language they speak.
