ViMS (Virtual Museum School) is a scale up of UNESCO (Asia-Pacific) recognised 'The Museum School'. Using Museums as Learning spaces, Exhibits as Teaching Aids and Education Officers at Museums as Subject Experts, 'The Museum School' has been educating underprivileged children in Bhopal for the past 13 years, and replicated in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi too. It was also listed among '100 Global Innovations impacting K-12 Education' by HundrED, Finland. ViMS intends to take this proven pedagogy to children in all parts of the country, through Videos of Museum based classes, to deliver the same content through Quality Teachers in the videos. To make the videos experiential, they will be shot in 3D, taking rural children out of dingy classrooms virtually to the world of Museums. Just like Movies have their lasting impact on all, ViMS videos will help children remember concepts and recall them easily. Rural educated Youth trained as ViMS Facilitators, will engage themselves as Contract Teachers with rural Govt and aided Schools, and conduct classes using the ViMS videos, thus filling the gap of Subject Teachers there. ViMS will become a vehicle for all content developers and skill trainers, to take their content in a virtually experiential manner, to all children and adults equally.
