About Vocal For Local: What started out as an idea during the middle of the pandemic, is now a business that helps many home businesses thrive and has made hundreds of people, especially women, financially independent. Vocal for Local is an Social Commerce marketplace solely for home entrepreneurs. Started by Chaitanya Davda and Mihir Turakhia, Vocal for Local’s mission is to help provide these local entrepreneurs with a platform to turn their hobbies into a successful business venture. On this app, you can buy anything from tasty and fresh home cooked food to homemade natural beauty products with locally sourced ingredients to even some beautiful art and handicrafts. The app allows the entrepreneurs to set their own menu and allows flexibility of delivery (same day, next day or pre order). Mihir says “We haven't made this app keeping only sales and users in mind but also given ample of convenience and ease to sellers. If the seller is unavailable, he/she can deactivate the store with a click of a button.” Unlike other delivery apps, Vocal For Local will deliver from anywhere across the city. You can choose to order some biryani that is 15kms away from your location, and you’ll have it at your doorstep in no time. Chaitanya and Mihir’s vision for Vocal for Local is to expand to multiple cities (currently they are only in Mumbai), create a better buying experience for their customers by providing them with carefully curated products and wholesome food and making sure that thousands of home grown entrepreneurs get the reach and platform they deserve and eventually convert their passion into a full thriving business.
