Voice of Margin www.voiceofmargin.com is a citizen journalism portal working in the field of media literacy. It endeavours to give a voice to those who have been voiceless. Voices which have been at best ignored and worst even muzzled, by legacy media over the years in their unending quest for TRPs, advertisements and proximity to power. VOM is a unique portal that caters to the genre of citizen journalism, thereby providing opportunities to every aspiring journalist and content developer who is denied a break because of the fence the legacy media has made around itself. At VOM we are committed to reaching out to the people at margins and empowering them so that they speak for themselves. Our aim is to restore the agency of the marginalized people and break the client patron relationship between the oppressed and those who speak on their behalf. VOM considers itself to be a via medium through which the various aspects of margin life are brought to the forefront. We believe in empowering people at the margins to the extent that they become our resource partners while they reach out to the world. With it's ears to the ground, an eye for detail and a passionate workforce, VOM is the right source for spreading media literacy. In times when journalism is going through a credibility crisis it is such initiatives like media literacy workshops which can reinstate the trust of people and turnaround the industry.
