VPN ENGINEERS PVT LTD is a public-centric, social-utility start-up functioning in water infrastructure management primarily in with an objective to make sustainable use of the limited water resources and fulfill the water shortage needs of the human population, livestock and crops by manufacturing water pumps & related products and by introducing new techniques and revolutionizing the age-old customary practices that involuntarily damage the environment and by managing and offering more eco-friendly options to the population of India. India is a country blessed with natural resources including water resources in various forms like wells, streams, rivers, seas, and oceans, etc. in its ecology. Despite this, our country is slowly moving towards becoming a water-crisis country from a country rich in water resources. India is facing the worst water crisis in its history, and 21 Indian cities will run out of groundwater by 2020, a new report from the NITI Aayog, a government think tank provided highlighting the need for “urgent and improved” management of water resources. With nearly 600 million Indians facing high-to-extreme water stress – where more than 40 percent of the annually available surface water is used every year – and about 200,000 people dying every year due to inadequate access to safe water, the situation is likely to worsen as the demand for water will exceed the supply by 2050 as per the ‘Composite Water Management Index report. According to the Composite Water Management Index (CWMI) report released by the Niti Aayog in 2018, 21 major cities (Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and others) are competing to reach zero groundwater levels by 2020, affecting access for 100 million people. In such a situation, there is a need to conserve water resources, and opting for their sustainable use by recycling the available resources is what the country needs to carefully observe and find an innovative way. The scarcity of water in India affects hundreds of millions of people across the country. A major portion of the population does not have a reliable and constant means of getting water for their daily needs. In June 2019, 65% of all reservoirs in India reported below-normal water levels, and 12% were completely dry. Since tap water is unavailable in many cities including some megacities such as Chennai, residents are reliant on alternative water sources. In major areas, the rural, as well as urban population is reliant on water, pumps to get access to safe water.
