A Brief Synopsis about VRRX Therapeutics Cancer Therapeutics and model systems: Cancer is on the verge of becoming an epidemic in India. Although patients now have access to more therapeutic options, these options remain extremely expensive. Further, each patient’s cancer is different and is likely to respond differently to the therapies provided. We propose to streamline the administration of these patient therapies by providing a diagnostic option that goes beyond predicting therapy response through genomics and actually tests the drug combinations provided on the patients’ own tumour. We have come up with a proprietary method that grows a patients tumour in a manner that replicates inter and intra tumoral heterogeneity observed in primary cancer patient specimens. Our method allows us to test drug combinations that would work for an individual patient’s immediate need and also provides therapeutic solutions to the inevitable question of therapy resistance. We refer to this culture system as a tumoroid culture system. The advent of tumoroid culture systems represent a major breakthrough in model systems that faithfully reflect human cancer biology and holds great promise in ushering an era of truly personalized medicine. Feed and food: Adding to our above endeavours in the biotech space, we have leveraged our extensive understanding of morphogenesis and cell behaviour towards producing a unique set aquaculture mineral and immunomodulatory supplements. We currently manufacture two products, viz. Jalakrishi- a fully water-soluble mineral supplement for brackish water prawn aquaculture that provides all essential macronutrients useful for the development and maintenance of the skeletal system. The highly concentrated and easy to handle nature of this product ensures major savings on culture time and feed. Our other product is an immune modulator product called Pran Protect that provides vitamins along with trace micro nutrients that boost prawn immunity against all types of infections, including vibrio, white spot and white gut.
