SASTRA Deemed to be University's Incubator is a dynamic hub dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. Our primary goal is to nurture and support aspiring startups, guiding them through their initial stages and helping them evolve into successful and sustainable businesses. We envision becoming a leading catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. Infrastructure: Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, our incubator provides a conducive environment for startups to ideate, collaborate, and grow. From co-working spaces to cutting-edge labs, we offer comprehensive support to meet diverse entrepreneurial needs. Support Programs: We offer a range of support programs, including mentorship, networking opportunities, funding assistance, and access to industry experts. Our tailored programs are designed to address the unique challenges faced by startups in various sectors. Success Stories: Over the years, we have played a pivotal role in the success of numerous startups that have emerged from our incubation programs. These success stories underscore our commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Collaborations: We actively collaborate with industry partners & government agencies to create a vibrant ecosystem that enhances the entrepreneurial journey for startups associated with our incubator. Founded Shanmugha College of Engineering in 1984, Conferred Deemed University Status on 26th April, 2001. The University offers various UG, PG & PhD programmes in Engineering, Science, Law, Management & Arts. The University has been re-accredited by the NAAC with “A++” grade (Maximum) with a score of 3.76 / 4.00. Category 1 Institution as per MHRD classification. Recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization by Government of India and engaged in research for various agencies like DST, BARC, CSIR, ISRO, DRDO, DBT besides private organizations. Academic Partner of National Knowledge Network (NKN), NPTEL of NMEICT Partner in Pedagogy project 180 acre of campus with 13000 students, 700 faculty members & 1 Gbps campus, wide network. Accredited by Institutions of Engineers (India), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. The R&D activities at SASTRA has reached a new dimension over the years. 145 R&D Projects funded by DST, MHI, AYUSH, DBT, DRDO, ICMR, CSIR, BRNS and other private organizations like Tata Electronics, TCS, Brakes India, Sundaram Finance, Turbo Energy Limited, etc., SASTRA houses two Technology Business Incubators, FIRST and ABLEST with the support from NIDHI, DST and BIRAC, DBT respectively. Foundation for Innovation and Research (FIRST) is a Department of Science & Technology, supported TBI that nurtures entrepreneurs in the areas of Additive Manufacturing, internet of things, AR/VR and drones. It currently supports 80+ incubatees, and has graduated 18 startups. FIRST is also supported through the NIDHI-PRAYAS scheme, SISFS and NIDHI-EIR funding schemes and has received support from various corporates. Association for Bio-inspired Leaders & Entrepreneurs at SASTRA-TBI (ABLEST) is a section 8 company that is supported by BIRAC and SASTRA. ABLEST has so far onboarded 30+ incubatees, spanning across fields such as AI & ML health care solutions, point-of-care devices, therapeutics, smart healthcare devices and point of test device and has graduated 4 startups. ABLEST is also supported through SISFS funding scheme. E-Cell at SASTRA University, led by a vibrant team of 200 students, is committed to nurturing entrepreneurship among its 16,000+ peers. Their flagship events, E-SUMMIT and INNOVATIA, are key highlights of the academic year. E-SUMMIT '23 focused on ideation and investment awareness, while INNOVATIA '22 delved into entrepreneurial career paths. With a diverse range of initiatives like the SOCIAL SAVVY SUMMIT, HEALTH-TECH CONCLAVE, and workshops on product design and marketing strategies, E-Cell provides a comprehensive platform. Events like Monopol-E and CISCO ThingQBator offer avenues for innovation, while practical workshops on Sony Photography and Drone Technology provide hands-on learning. Moreover, Entrepreneurial Expeditions introduce students to concepts like Life Cycle Management. This dynamic environment encourages students to explore entrepreneurship through interactive events and networking opportunities, preparing them for future ventures. Notably, two teams from Entrepreneurship Cell, SASTRA, achieved recognition as top 20 finalist teams at the esteemed EMPRESARIO 2024 finals in Kolkata on February 3rd, 2024.
