Our product:piCards : Low cost audience polling solution for better learning outcomes in classroomsClicker devices like the ones used in Kaun Banega Crorepati audience polling lifeline, are widely used in Universities and schools abroad as continuous feedback system. Research shows that such devices improve learning outcomes in classrooms by keeping students engaged. The teacher teaches a topic and immediately asks a question related to the topic just taught. The students use clicker devices to log their responses and the teacher immediately gets to know how many got it right and how many got it wrong. While clickers are a good way to ascertain the level of understanding among students, clicker devices cannot be used in mid-low income setups due to the cost and other logistics involved. We have developed a very low cost, quick and efficient audience polling solution that not just collects feedback but also tracks students' performance at granular level. We replace clicker devices with sheets of paper with special QR code-like pattern printed on them. The four orientations of the sheet code for options A, B, C and D. Each student gets one such sheet. The teacher asks a question and students rotate their sheets to show relevant options. The teacher scans all cards at once using our scanning app and gets to see the results in real time. These responses are then synced to our analytics platform where we keep track of each student's performance and clearly identify their weak and strong areas.
