AAHTREL (Advanced Ammonia and Hydrogen Technologies for a Renewable and Equitable Living) Research Labs has been formed with the primary goal of developing technologies facilitating the usage of Hydrogen and Ammonia in various sectors such as Power Generation, Transport, Industrial Heating and Manufacturing. Hydrogen is a carbon free fuel and is termed as the 'Fuel of the Future'. However, it comes with the challenges of storage and transmission due to its low volumetric energy density. Fortunately, Ammonia, which is carbon-neutral is an excellent carrier of Hydrogen which can be stored and transmitted easily. The usage of these two fuels as an alternative for the carbon-polluting fossil fuel is the main focus of the AAHTREL Research Labs and we are developing an IC Engine are industrial burner related products to ensure smooth transition from a Hydrocarbon-based economy to a Green Economy. Our Vision is in-line with the ‘National Hydrogen Mission’ our PM's statement at COP26 for a ‘Carbon Free India by 2070'. These industry-ready products will be developed through comprehensive studies based on Computational Fluid Dynamics followed by realistic validation, experimental trails. In addition to ab-initio product development, the accent will be also on reclaiming, retrofitting and redeploying fossil-fuelled equipment/devices in good working condition but facing the threat of being phased out on account of infringement of pollution control measures; thus, leading to considerable economic benefits.
