India's manufacturing sector makes up a significant portion of the country's industry sector GDP. Up until recently, large manufacturing giants have also been considering setting up their operations in India due to rising manufacturing wages in China and a few other geopolitical concerns. Apart from these giants, there are in total of 70 million (by 2022) MSMEs in India that produce almost everything we use daily. Although these figures are excellent compared to other countries, India lags far behind its international rivals in terms of productivity, efficiency, and technology. The major issues are inadequate technology or a lack of technological advancement, which results in low industrial productivity and efficiency. Still, the majority of these industries continue to use traditional production techniques in the age of digitization.We, at Clifford Automation Private Limited, consider the challenges mentioned above as the major obstacles to the growth of the Manufacturing Industry in India. While accepting a problem is the first step in solving it, we also think that effectively monitoring all manufacturing processes is the first step in solving these issues. This can be facilitated by the use of technology. To track production processes, we suggest developing software that collects information from each machine as well as operational data. All this information will be shown in a dashboard-like interface so that everything becomes accessible in one place only. This will provide insights into the specific issues a factory or plant is facing. By using the collected data, this software will be able to provide suggestions on areas that require improvement to increase the overall efficiency of the plant. Thus by leveraging technology, we will increase the productivity and efficiency of the plant or factory.
