Cartooz: A car after sales marketplace Project Brief: Cartooz is a single window platform for all car owners which provide comprehensive solution for all their car related problems. Industry Problem: currently there is no mechanism at national level that solves all your car related problems and bring transparency in the system. Cartooz will streamline servicing experience for car owners by aggregating workshops and bringing transparency and ease of booking a service through its user friendly app. Investment consideration • The Indian automotive aftermarket is estimated to grow at around 10-15 per cent to reach US$ 16.5 billion by 2021 from around US$ 7 billion in 2016. • It has the potential to generate up to US$ 300 billion in annual revenue by 2026, create 65 million additional jobs and contribute over 12 per cent to India’s Gross Domestic Product • 46% of market covered by organized service centers, 53% unorganized players,1% multi-brand organized servicing centers. Share of multi-brand organized servicing players is expected to rise to 8% by 2020. • Online booking of automobile sector (sale purchase and after sales) is currently 1% and expected to become 8-9% by 2020. • 9 % of 16.5 B is the overall market size that will be served online by 2020, so we would like to target at least 25-30% of online market share which is 1.5 B USD, being an early mover in the market. Target market segment: Initial focus will be car servicing in NCR through tie-up with existing workshops for car servicing and breakdown service. Cartooz will open company owned car wash stores in India along with door step car wash. Car wash business will be company owned rest all business models will be aggregator model. AMC, car insurance and car loan along with doorstep servicing are in pipeline and we will start all these after stabilizing the three models which we have already launched. Journey so far Pilot test: We have tie-up with 30 workshops in Delhi that will facilitate car servicing and breakdown service. Cartooz has launched its android app along with website where as iOS is under process. Initial testing of app and website with operations is already done within friends and family for car wash and car servicing. Proof of concept: With successfully testing all 3 business models we have made our app and site open for public from and are getting 1-2 booking on daily basis. By June we will be targeting 3 major car parking lots in Delhi, where we are expecting to serve 20 cars per day from each parking lot, this will give us access to 5000 cars on daily basis where we can promote car wash and car service business. Customer will get to know everything that needs to be fixed in their car on their mobile. The number of workshop signed will increase to 50 as we would cover more car brands and locations in Delhi. Important partnerships Craft business services Pvt Ltd has become a dealer of Bosch, as they believed in our startup, this will help us in procuring car wash equipment and car parts and will give us access to their expertise and engineers that will help us in future. Tie up with 54 strategic car parking lots in Delhi where we can market Cartooz and do car wash business and get direct access to probable customers. We have become dealer of Schutzen (a German automotive cleaning brand) Early traction: 7K face book likes, 200 downloads, 100 customers Execution Overview Phase 1 (2017-18) Funding requirement of 0.5 Million USD (3.5 Cr INR) Funds required to accelerate growth, strengthen its operations in NCR and extend outside NCR and broaden service provider network. We will also use funds to enhance product development. We will soon launch iOS application and increase features and functionality for both customer and service provider. Cartooz will open 3 company owned car wash stores at strategic location in NCR. Use of funds Salaries: 1.25 Cr Marketing and promotions: 1.27Cr Administration Expenses: 0.17 Cr Capital expenditure: 1.25 Cr What we will achieve? Bookings: 25000 Turnover: 7 Cr EBITDA : -11,558,632 Phase II (2018-19) Funding requirement 3-4 Million USD (22-25 Cr INR) This is very important phase for the company where we focus on automation and expansion along with making Cartooz as a brand for online car after sales service provider. We will be doing everything possible in car after sales right from car servicing, breakdown, car wash, car loan, AMC to car Insurance. All those from one platform with click of a button. We will open 15 Company owned car wash stores and 35 franchise car wash stores in different parts of country. Funds will be used for Scaling operations, marketing and customer acquisition, expansion to other cities like Mumbai ++ Bangalore++ What we will achieve?
