CropVet Agro Pvt Ltd is a for-profit company founded in November 2020 in the Raigad district of Maharashtra by three daughters of farmers. CropVet was established as a working partner to Gramlaxmi. CropVet will implement projects defined by Gramlaxmi’s R&D, while Gramlaxmi continues as a research wing. Mrs. Pradnya Vilas Parave, Mrs. Nidhi Nitesh Lambe, and Mrs. Shubhangi Amit Patil are the founders of CropVet. Mr. Vilas Parave is leading CropVet as the CEO. Because of our proximity to farmers’ lives and our village, we are intimately aware of the pain and challenges in the lives of farmers. We established CropVet to help support and strengthen our community. Our core values are: Farmer first Local over global Caring for customer health Honesty Our vision is to develop farmer clusters with livelihood opportunities, rural entrepreneurship, and village transformation aspirations, predominantly women. Another important goal of our initiatives is to give better nutrition affordable to daily wage workers. At the outset, we recognize the important contribution that poultry can make to alleviate poverty. That’s why our initial programs focus on small-scale, low-input, family-based, free-range, organic poultry production. But as an integrator, we are a commercial entity with operations across the value chain. For the financial year 2022-2023, our objective is to create supplementary revenue streams of 1 lakh rupees per farmer per year for 1000-1200 farmers. We offer various services to farmers including: Organization and capacity building; Facilitation of marketing and credit; Conducting region-specific market studies to facilitate knowledge sharing; Accessing government and other schemes for farmer self-help groups; and Developing retail outlets. Our projects attempt to establish sustainable, multi-purposed ecosystems of produce for our stakeholders with valuable benefits such as various revenue streams. Our model is currently being implemented for Dapoli Taluka in Raigad district and Chalisgaon Taluka in Jalgaon district. Below are our key achievements in each. Our key community and ecosystem-building achievements in Dapoli so far are: Community awareness program completed in 60 villages through community-based meetings and 3 social entrepreneurship gatherings; Established and trained field operations team of 15 members; Job fair held at Dapoli Agricultural University to build a pipeline of prospective team members to support business growth in the near future; 15 small-scale poultry units of one guntha rearing 200 birds each are live in operation - each unit has a revenue potential of 1 lakh per year; Funding and finance provisioning for 300 more farmers is in progress. In Chalisgaon, we have a large-scale pilot poultry project of 600 parent birds near completion. We are projecting a revenue of 72 lakhs a year using a market assessment and a sample supply rate of 200 Rs. / kg for the meat.
