Mission and Activities: The start up focuses on developing new technologies to treat different kinds of waste generated by anthropogenic activities. The technologies developed are sustainable and holistic with a zero discharge to the environment. This ensure no adverse effect on the environment. The target segment so far has been on electronic wastes a major contributor to municipal solid waste. Technologies for recovering metals such as copper, lead and tin present in printed circuit boards have been developed. Proof of concept of different technologies is is established at the lab scale first and then it is scaled up to pilot plant and commercial operations. A plant to treat 100 tonnes of ewaste per year has been designed and is ready for demonstration at BHEL R and D center Trichy. This initiative is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India with BHEL as the industrial partner. A new technology to simultaneously recover lead and copper using an electrowinning step has been developed. The recovery of two metals at the two different electrodes at the same time has been shown for the first time. Earlier processes were able to recover only one meal at a time in electrowinning
