Nallakeerai is our trade marked brand, we have built a sustainable, high revenue natural farming model called “25 Cent Nallakeerai - Model” in short NKM. We are specialized in leafy vegetable (spinach/Keerai/Greens) produce that is why our brand name called “Nallakeerai” (Good Greens). Innovation We have structured spinach production model in raised bed system with our own composition of natural manures and enrichments methods to keep the microbes alive and grow in multifold. The 25 cent (1/4 of acre/10,000 sqft) model have 75 raised beds, each bed is 100 sqft and contains at least 10 varieties of spinaches and the model contains 40 varieties of spinaches. It is build such a way, will support any small farmer who wants to switch over to natural farming in proven model with small land space and this model supports across the year production with minimum water consumption and empowers women employment. Spinach is chosen because it is short term crop, micro nutrition, stable market value and high nutritional value. Improvement and scalability Initially started with 5 acre land space for R&D and then improved the process and structure to scalable model of 25 cent (1/4 of acre). Any farmer can adopt this model, as the spinach does not have deep roots and the raised bed (1 feet) is self-sufficient to grow the plant, no need of soil dependency. Each model can be managed by two house hold and easy to maintain the field and marketable.
